Fishguard is a quaint coastal town in Pembrokeshire. Modern Fishguard consists of two parts, Lower Fishguard and the “Main Town”.

Fishguard and Goodwick are twin towns with a joint Town Council. Lower Town, ‘Y Cwm’ in Welsh, is the old port of Fishguard. Situated at the mouth of the Gwaun river its picturesque setting has been used as a location for many films including ‘Under Milk Wood’ starring Richard Burton. Local fishermen and pleasure boats add to the attraction and there is a pub and yacht club. Go up the hill towards Newport and visit the site of the old fort for panoramic views of the harbour. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is easily reached from either the harbour or the fort. There’s plenty of great cafes, restaurants and pubs in the town for you to sample, including several independent boutique shops to explore on the High Street.
